David Corenswet Suits Up in Stunning First ‘Superman’ Image

The wait is nearly done. In a little over a year, we'll see James Gunn's version of Superman and the new DC cinematic universe. To keep us intrigued, the director and writer revealed our first look at David Corenswet (Pearl) in costume as the Son of Krypton this week. The image is unexpected and teases elements of the story to come.

The image reveals a rare moment in Clark Kent's where he is seen putting on his red boots to save the once again. Gunn's deliberate selection of this image for Threads suggests that Corenswet and the writer/director are preparing to introduce this new version of Superman to the .

In the picture, it's clear that Clark is having a tough day as the protector of . His eyes are almost closed and he seems like he'd rather than fight. But there's a massive pink laser coming from the sky, likely causing destruction in Metropolis. Superman has no option but to go and fix this. His costume also appears dirty and worn out, indicating that Clark has been in a prolonged battle. Gunn had previously suggested the costume Superman would wear, and now we have confirmation from Clark himself.

‘Superman' Must Save The Day — Again

The unique approach to the image hints at something truly inspiring about the movie. James Gunn is known for his exceptional work with superhero stories, such as the beloved Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and the highly anticipated Suicide Squad sequel. However, we can't help but wonder how he will put his own twist on a story that has been told many times before. Superman will not only pave the way for a new universe in DC but also needs to stand out in a market saturated with superhero films. The pressure on Superman is immense, to say the least.
