Musk may consider a million dollars as insignificant, but for the couple, it was a significant fortune considering their initial investment in the car.

In 1989, an unidentified young couple purchased an unclaimed storage unit for $100.

The auction was conducted blindly, so neither the buyer nor the seller knew the contents of the unit.

Naturally, it might have been empty, and the Long Island, New York couple would have been throwing away their money.

When the couple discovered the car, they were unsure of what it was, as stated by Doug Redenius, the who confirmed the car's authenticity.

In 2013, Redenius mentioned to NBC that the couple had never seen a Bond movie before and were unaware of the worth of their finding.

The intended to enhance the car's damaged roof and make some overall improvements to the vehicle.

Once the car was loaded onto the truck, the truckers got in touch to inform them that they had a Bond car.

The couple chose to showcase it at various exhibits for twenty years before deciding to sell it at an auction in 2013.

The car was sold at RM Sotheby to an undisclosed buyer for an astonishing $997,000, and naturally, the couple were thrilled.

Elon Musk intervened at this point, and it was later disclosed that the owner of Twitter bought the car.
