Daniel Radcliffe Open to Returning to Harry Potter Universe as New Character

Daniel Radcliffe has addressed returning to Harry Potter to 'play another character'

The actor was the main focus in all eight of the Harry Potter movies, but believes he could have portrayed two other characters effectively.

Even though he landed the lead role and became the main of a highly successful movie series “Harry Potter”, Daniel Radcliffe still felt a little jealous of his fellow actors.

The 34-year-old was the main focus in all eight of the Harry Potter movies. However, he once mentioned that he wouldn't have objected to playing one of the quieter yet important characters in the magical universe.

In August 2021, Radcliffe appeared on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused . He was asked about the roles he would have wanted to play if he had the power to go back in time with a magic wand.

The person had a great time pretending to be the Boy Who Lived for ten years. However, he would have also enjoyed playing two other characters in Harry Potter that he thinks were really amazing.

Radcliffe was particularly fascinated by the two men who portrayed figures to his notorious character. He admitted that his interest might be attributed to the actors themselves.

He said, “I might choose Sirius or Lupin.”

I always thought those two characters were amazing! My opinion might be influenced by my personal of filming those scenes with those people. Those moments are some of my most cherished memories.

In another lifetime, Daniel Radcliffe wouldn't have minded starring as Sirius Black or Remus Lupin (Warner Bros)

Daniel Radcliffe would have been happy to play Sirius Black or Remus Lupin in a different time.

Radcliffe mentioned Gary Oldman, who played the role of Harry's godfather Sirius Black, and David Thewlis, who portrayed Professor Remus Lupin, his late father's best friend and co-creator of the Marauder's Map.

He remembered how both of them assisted him in understanding the essence of acting as he gained global recognition starting at the age of 12 and continuing into his teenage years.

The actor from “Guns Akimbo” expressed his deep affection for the scenes he shared with Gary Oldman and David Thewlis.

In the third and fifth movies, I began to feel like a young learning about acting, and the people there were really cool.

Fans of the franchise were quite surprised when they heard that Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, suggested playing a different character. This idea caused a lot of excitement among fans, who thought it would be interesting to see Radcliffe in a Harry Potter reboot.

The dad-of-one advised his supporters to not take the podcast discussion too seriously. Instead, he wants Potterheads to take it with a whole handful of salt.

Shortly after the podcast's release three years ago, he addressed the rumors about his return to Harry Potter as a different character in an interview with SiriusXM.

Radcliffe stated that he believes he recalls correctly that the question asked about who else he would have liked to portray in the series as a hypothetical scenario. He acknowledged that there will always be discussions about a potential Harry Potter reboot, but emphasized that these discussions are often exaggerated in the media compared to the actual likelihood of it happening.

No one has ever contacted me about any upcoming Harry Potter movies, so I don't think it's happening. But now that I've mentioned it, I might have jinxed myself.

If it wasn't clear enough, let me explain again. Radcliffe was only speaking hypothetically, and it's highly probable that he would wear the same lightning scar if there was ever a revisit of Harry Potter.

In 2019, he made a prediction that he wouldn't be the last Boy Who Lived that we would witness during his lifetime. He believes that there are possibilities for exploring other aspects of the wizarding world.

Radcliffe stated that there are more tales from that realm that could easily be transformed into a television series. He suggested that a series featuring the older generation, known as the Marauders, would be incredibly fascinating.
