In an interview with Esquire, Reeves mentioned, “We filmed an entire marriage ceremony with actual priests. Winona claims we are married, and Coppola agrees. Therefore, I suppose we are officially married in the eyes of God.”
You may believe they only did the essential parts for the movie, but Ryder stated in an Entertainment Weekly interview that this is not true.
During the promotion of the movie Destination Wedding, the couple mentioned that they got married in Dracula. They even believed that they might be married in real life. In that particular scene, a genuine Romanian priest was used by Francis.
We captured the leader and he completed the entire task. Therefore, I believe we are now married.
