The actor from Thor: Love and Thunder shared his thoughts on the actress' remarks.
Russell Crowe wonders why Dakota Johnson believed she would find ‘pathos' in a superhero film.
Johnson, aged 34, acted alongside Sydney Sweeney in Sony's most recent addition to the Spider-Man Universe, Madame Web, earlier this year.
The movie featured the actress playing Cassandra ‘Cassie' Webb, a paramedic who discovers psychic powers and tries to rescue three young girls from the explorer Ezekiel Sims (portrayed by Tahar Rahim).
Regrettably, Madame Web failed to make an impact at the box office and received negative reviews from critics.
Johnson's numerous complaints and mistakes during her press tour also took away attention from the entertainment aspect, such as her inability to recall the titles of Tom Holland's Spider-Man films.
In a recent interview, Russel Crowe was questioned about his time working on popular comic book films, comparing it to Johnson's experience, and if he shared her views.
In an interview with GQ, the 60-year-old Gladiator actor began his speech by stating that he didn't want to speculate about what others may have said or their personal experiences.
But, he started by stating: “So, you're saying you joined a Marvel film, and a universe full of animated characters… and you didn't find it emotionally impactful enough?”

“Not quite sure how I can make this better for you. It's a gigantic machine, and they make movies at a certain size. And you know, I've experienced that on the DC side with Man of Steel, Zack Snyder, and I've experienced it on the Marvel side via Disney with Thor: Love and Thunder.
“And I've also experienced the [Sony-produced] Marvel dark universe with Kraven the Hunter.”
Crowe claCrowe stated that he considers working on superhero movies or comic-book adaptations as ‘jobs'.
He stated that if actors think those kinds of films will be ‘life-altering experiences', then they are participating for the incorrect motives.
“It can be challenging, working in a blue-screen world, when you have to convince yourself of a lot more than just the internal machinations of your character,” he continued.

Crowe reiterated his stance on Johnson, stating that he was unaware of her and uncertain about her experiences during the production of the Sony film.
“Is that the Marvel process? I'm not sure you can say that. I haven't had a bad experience.”
He mentioned that playing Zeus in the fourth Thor movie was a blast every day, and he had the freedom to be playful.
Madame Web is available to rent and buy via Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video and Sky Store.
