Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash had to delay some concert tours because his stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, died at the young age of 25. Her last Instagram post was just a few hours after the sad news.
Lucy-Bleu Knight's last message was shared on Instagram right after Slash revealed her passing, blending reality with social media in a powerful way.
Three hours passed since Slash's sad announcement, when a new selfie of Knight popped up on her Instagram. The caption on the picture, where Knight is gazing thoughtfully off to the side, is quite touching considering her recent passing. “If I ever made you feel left out, manipulated, convinced you to leave your job while I was financially taken care of by my parents, or ignored real problems with fake positivity – I apologize,” the post said.
Numerous missed opportunities and connections were lost due to a very big ego, an insecure heart, and fear of being vulnerable,” the message read. “I hope my soul can learn and grow from my mistakes as Lucy-Bleu. Peace🌷” Many of Knight's followers believed that she had written the post before her unexpected death. The post was modified after it was posted, but it's uncertain who made the changes or what was adjusted.
Knight's mother, Meegan Hodges, was one of the first to comment on the post, writing, “MY BABY GIRL! 🕊️🤍 I LOVE YOU WITH EVERYTHING. I'M SO SORRY.”
Hodges had previously posted the obituary for her daughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, who was born on December 6, 1998. Lucy-Bleu was the beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, and the stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash. She was also the sister of Scarlet Knight, and the stepsister of London and Cash Hudson. Lucy-Bleu passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024.
Lucy-Bleu was really good at art, she loved to dream, and she was a really nice and lovable person. Her family wants some time alone and they don't want people to talk too much on social media while they are sad about losing her.
Slash had initially announced the cancellation of part of his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. tour on Sunday due to “unforeseen circumstances.” He followed this announcement by sharing Lucy-Bleu's obituary on Monday.
