Justin Long recently disclosed an unexpected and open story on the “PIE with Kurt Sutter and Katey Sagal” podcast, recounting an awkward yet strangely romantic moment he encountered with his wife, Kate Bosworth. While on a trip to Mexico City, Long endured severe food poisoning, resulting in him feeling extremely unwell and requiring an IV. Despite the challenging circumstances, Kate remained by his side, assisting him to the bathroom and offering essential support.
Long was surprised when he woke up in the middle of the night to find out that he had soiled the bed while Kate was sleeping next to him. Long recounted the incident by saying, “At one point that night, I woke up, and there's no other way to say this, I can't dance around it: I had s* the bed. I had s* the bed, and she was in the bed.” Kate's reaction was unexpected as she showed great understanding and compassion towards Long. She comforted him, advised him to take a shower, and promptly called for medical help, all while maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor.
Long amusingly likened the scenario to a scene from “Dumb and Dumber,” recognizing the ridiculousness of the situation. Despite feeling embarrassed, he viewed the incident as a testament to the resilience of their relationship and Kate's non-judgmental and compassionate character. He remembered thinking, “I was having a rough time, and she was gazing at me with love, and I thought: ‘This is truly romantic.'”.
Upon reflecting on the challenge, Long was grateful for Kate's unwavering support and recognized that true love involves standing by each other through both good and difficult times. This unique and intimate experience emphasized their deep bond and the importance of mutual care and understanding in a relationship. It serves as a humorous yet heartfelt reminder that love can thrive even in the most unexpected and messy situations.
