Meet the new Miss Jolie.
Amid Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's legal battles, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has requested to drop “Pitt” from her last name, according to documents from TMZ on May 30.
Shiloh's name change request was filed on May 27, her 18th birthday, which aligns with the start of a new chapter in her life. The documents indicate that this marks her official transition into adulthood.
In addition to Shiloh, Brad and Angelina take care of their other children: Maddox, who is 22 years old, Pax, who is 20 years old, Zahara, who is 19 years old, and the twins Vivienne and Knox, who are 15 years old.
E! News tried to contact Brad's spokesperson, but did not get a reply. They also tried to reach out to Angelina's spokesperson, but were not successful.
Shiloh isn't the only one in the family going for a shorter name. Recently, it was reported that Vivienne's name was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in the playbill for the new Broadway musical “The Outsiders,” which she co-produced with Angelina. Zahara, their oldest daughter, has also decided to drop the hyphenated surname. When she joined Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College in November, she introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” during the initiation ceremony.
Name changes happen often in the Jolie-Pitt family. Angelina changed her last name from Voight to Jolie, and Brad dropped his first name William when he started acting in Los Angeles.
Evidently, it's a family trait.
