Following his performance, Chrissy Teigen, the host, descended from the ceiling in an upside-down position, sporting the famous Spider-Man mask.
If you've watched the 2002 Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire, you'll remember a specific scene that stands out.
Spider-Man is seen battling a gang of criminals and rescuing Mary Jane, portrayed by Kirsten Dunst, while it's raining.
Spider-Man saves the day and then swings down, hanging upside down from a web.
While upside down, he and Mary Jane kiss in the pouring rain.
And since Holland became Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Zendaya appeared to quickly make the connection.

The star's expression dropped noticeably as she seemed to believe that Holland was going to reenact the well-known scene – but with a different woman.
It is uncertain whether the duo were truly in a relationship during that period, but speculations began to spread after their encounter on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016.
After the video reappeared on social media, Zendaya's fans immediately noticed her response and shared their thoughts in the comments.
One commented on Instagram: “She was abt to throw some f**kin hands.”
While another wrote: “Zendaya's smile faded like she was going to light that place up.”
A third posted: “She was ready to fight lmao.”
Fortunately, Zendaya's worry proved to be unnecessary when John Legend, Teigen's spouse, appeared on the stage.

Zendaya's worried look vanished instantly as she erupted into laughter upon the singer's arrival.
Legend and Teigen kissed, causing the crowd to go crazy.
Holland and Zendaya appear to have a slight competition when it comes to their performances on Lip Sync Battle.
Celebrities on the show lip sync to popular songs and are evaluated based on their performance.
Zendaya quickly responded with a firm “no” when questioned if she would repeat the experience during a promotional interview for Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Holland interrupted, expressing disappointment that she didn't receive any sparklers, after she was told about the numerous costume changes and ‘sparklers'.
Zendaya countered by highlighting that he had released two songs instead of just one, whereas Holland retaliated by mentioning that she had arrived in a private jet for her performance.
