Online users are pointing out various warning signs shown by Diddy in an old interview with Ellen DeGeneres from 2009 that has recently resurfaced.
The interview has gained notice due to the rapper, Sean Combs, being captured on video in 2016 physically harming his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
The attack happened seven years after Combs was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. During the show, the host brought up Combs' connection to Chris Brown, who was making headlines for assaulting Rihanna.
Combs appeared to dodge the subject at first, claiming he wouldn't mention it on Twitter. However, Ellen persisted in her attempts to elicit a response from the rapper.
Combs then mentioned that he was someone who doesn't judge others.
Ellen continued by expressing her desire for women not to feel obligated to return to a man who had harmed them. She then reassured Combs, “I don't want to involve you in this, as it's not about you.”
Combs, however, replied, “Since you're involving me, I'll share my thoughts. I believe it's wrong for anyone to physically harm another person.”

Diddy has expressed remorse for his actions in the video with Ventura, stating in a recent online post that he felt “disgusted” at the time.
He expressed his disgust and shared that he sought professional help by going to therapy and rehab. He also mentioned asking God for mercy and grace, expressing his remorse.
Ventura has expressed her thoughts on the incidents, stating: “Domestic Violence is a significant problem. It shattered me and transformed me into someone I never imagined I could be. Through immense effort, I have improved my situation, but I will always be healing from my previous experiences.”
Combs has faced legal action in the past few months, with seven civil lawsuits filed against him. Six of these lawsuits specifically accuse him of sexual assault.
Combs and his attorneys have denied the allegations.
